Clarence United Methodist Church
to Hold 24th Annual Apple Festival

Featuring "Gifts You Feel Good Giving"

Clarence United Methodist Church will hold its 24th Annual Apple Festival on Saturday, October 18th, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the church's Family Life Center located at 10205 Greiner Road (corner of Strickler Road, across from Clarence Middle School) in Clarence, N.Y. This year's festival features a variety of events and activities for all ages including the traditional harvest offerings of orchard-fresh apples and cider and the festival's signature homemade apple pies. Lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and a Chiavetta's chicken barbecue will be available from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. There will also be a Country Store, locally-made crafts and dried flowers, a white elephant sale, and a Kids' Arts Activity Korner.

The festival will continue its focus on giving back to the community with "Gifts You Feel Good Giving" - an array of non-profit organizations selling unique gift items in support of a wide range of community efforts. Participants will include Ten Thousand Villages, Clarence Town Historical Society, Journey's End Refugee Services, The Paintbox Project at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Heifer Project International, Habitat for Humanity, Celebrate Recovery, International Students, Inc., ECHO (Educational Concerns for World Hunger), Garden Friends of Clarence, and the Melinda Gray Ardia Environmental Foundation. Net proceeds from the festival are distributed to a variety of local, national, and international outreach programs.

Homemade apple pies are $10 and can be ordered in advance by calling the church office at 716.759.8921. Pies can also be purchased for direct donation to the Clarence Food Pantry's Thanksgiving dinner drive.

In addition, Upstate New York Transplant Services will be conducting a blood drive during the festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Walk-in donors are welcome.

For additional information about this year's festival contact the church office at 716.759.8921.
