Intentional Parenting – Community Room
Based on Doug and Cathy Fields’ book, this study is for all parents who strive to become more intentional parents. “Every parent has dreams for their children. As parents, we all start out with the best intentions. Although, at some point, we move from DREAMS to DUCT TAPE and hope that each day everything will just stick together. Raising kids in today’s culture is a difficult challenge and it requires a plan. Without a plan, parents usually default to Quick-Fix Parenting. Let’s face it: it’s just easier to focus on immediate problems rather than deal with the deeper and more important ones. Surviving each day is much easier than taking the time and energy to consider how parenting actions impact a child’s future. We get it. To be an exceptional parent, you need to be an intentional parent. But, don’t worry! You’re not alone and Doug and Cathy are here to help. They’re veteran parents who can help you move from Quick-Fix Parenting to Intentional Parenting. It’s never too late to become an intentional parent. Remember, you are the GREATEST influence on the life of your child (no matter their age)! And it can all begin with these resources. Let’s walk this important journey – together”

The Reason for God – Rm 205
This group, continued from last year, draws from the book “The Reason for God” by Timothy Keller. This book addresses how faith in a Christian God is a soundly rational belief.

How could a loving God send people to hell? Why does he allow suffering? Can one religion be “right” and the others “wrong”? Responding to the questions of open skeptics and ardent believers, Keller draws from literature, philosophy, reason, and real-life conversations. Weekday Groups

Tuesday Evening 6:30pm – Post-Sermon Discussion
This is a group of families that casually meet and discuss the practical application of biblical principals expressed in the Sunday sermon. Location varies. Please submit the form below for more information.

Tuesday Evening 7:00pm – Breaking the Code: Understanding the Book of Revelation

If you have been intrigued about the book of REVELATION, this new small group study may be for you.

The Greek name of the Bible book of Revelation, A·po·kaʹly·psis (apocalypse), means “Uncovering” or “Disclosure.” This name indicates the meaning of Revelation —it uncovers matters that had been hidden and discloses events that would happen long after it was written. Many of its prophecies are yet to be fulfilled

The study is based on a book called Breaking the Code: Understanding the Book of Revelation by Bruce Metzger.

The Book of Revelation contains passages of great beauty and comfort, as well as passages that strike the casual reader as bizarre, bewildering, and sometimes frightening.

The 8-week class will be on Tuesday evenings starting 11/6 at 7:00 pm at the Tompkins’ house.

Contact Michele Whitfield at 716-800-5357 or submit the form below for more information and to sign up.
